Many community members felt it would be beneficial to have more time to explore specific issues together and, as a result, Coffee Corner Calls were developed.  Community members who wanted to access more informal conversations with the community could discuss topics, responses and challenges as well as have the time and opportunity to brainstorm with peers, across borders.

The calls have now become a series of discussions designed to improve subject matter understanding and provide a space for the community to network and grow.

Covering a broad range of topics, these sessions currently include; 

• Suicide prevention with human trafficking survivors (led by the Eleison Foundation)

• Child Begging and Human Trafficking (led by El Pozo de Vida)

• Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, within Prevention

• Decolonizing Language (led by The Salvation Army)

• Funding in the anti-trafficking sector (led by A21 and the GLC Secretariat)

• LGBTQ+ and the Anti-Trafficking community (led by the GLC community)

• Measurement frameworks for survivor restoration (led by EverFree)

• Organ Trafficking (led by Stop the Traffik UK)

• Content analysis in media coverage of human trafficking (led by The Forum for Development and Human Rights Dialogue)

• Prevention as core vulnerability reduction (led by Set Free Foundation and the National Freedom Network)

• Working with Government in Ports (led by Freedom Ports Alliance)

• Trafficking in West Africa - NGO responses (Led by World Hope International and the GLC Secretariat)

• The social reintegration / follow-up for survivors who have left programs (led by El Pozo de Vida)

• The cost of chocolate at Easter (led by Be Slavery Free)

To date, the session’s have brought together individuals and organisations from across the globe to debate, and action, some key issues faced within the movement. Working together to explore these themes, and produce actionable responses, the GLC aims to further the work of the community, strengthen responses and call others to action. These calls are not recorded and brief notes are taken by the call lead.
